Channel Rules
Make the rules clear before the next signal arrives.
Different sources can have different sizing and management needs. Atlas channel settings bring those decisions together, showing which values are inherited and which you have customized for a particular source.
Choose sizing with its limits in view
Fixed lots remain the default documented sizing mode. Optional percentage sizing calculates a budget to the stop using current balance or equity and the broker's calculation. The estimate belongs to each entry, so concurrent trades can add up.
- Select a size or percentage explicitly for each channel.
- Review position and total-volume limits where supported.
- Allow for gaps, slippage and charges when assessing possible losses.
Define how a signal will be managed
Supported settings cover target selection or allocation and permissions for subsequent stop, target, protection and close instructions. Choose these based on the source's real messages and the behavior you intend.
- Use a selected target or distribute the signal's total size across valid supplied targets.
- Review inherited settings before replacing them with channel-specific values.
- Check the difference between a new-entry setting and permission to manage existing positions.
Check that your change has reached the worker
Saving a setting and applying it to the running copier are separate steps. The management view distinguishes the saved revision from the worker's acknowledged settings so you can review the current state.
- Size changes apply to new entries and do not resize existing positions.
- Management permissions can affect later instructions for existing positions.
- Pause new entries while reviewing a policy; verify the applied state before resuming.
FAQ
Do all channels have to use the same policy?
No. Supported settings can be inherited from the project or customized per channel. Review the displayed origin of each value so you know whether a channel uses the shared setting or its own selection.
Does changing the lot size resize open trades?
No. Lot changes affect new entries. Existing positions keep their actual volume, and their recorded price policy is preserved. Permissions for later management messages may still affect those positions.
Is a percentage setting a maximum loss guarantee?
No. It is an entry-sizing budget to the selected stop. Concurrent positions create combined exposure, and gaps, slippage, commissions or swaps can increase losses beyond the calculation.
When does a saved rule take effect?
A saved revision must be accepted and applied by the running worker. Check its acknowledged settings and readiness. A save confirmation alone does not establish that the next event will use the new policy.
